Neal Folger

Director of Youth

Neal has been active in children's ministry and student ministry since 2004. He first felt a calling to youth ministry while working as a summer camp counselor at a Christian retreat center near Atlanta.

After graduating from Valdosta State University in 2007, he was a news photojournalist in the TV journalism world. He worked for TV stations in Augusta, Georgia and Charleston, SC. During his TV news career, Neal was a youth and children's ministry volunteer, and came to realize he loved seeing students walk with Christ more than his actual job. He entered into full-time youth ministry in 2014 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian in Pawleys Island, SC, and was the director of children's and youth ministries for 14 months before coming to Leesburg UMC. He brings energy + enthusiasm + excitement to the ECHO Youth Ministry! He loves it when he is able to help students "get it" about Jesus, and want to grow more in their relationship with Him, take Him out of Sundays, and apply His teachings to their lives.

Neal is a graduate of VSU, and there is no school he is more passionate about (B-L-A-Z-E-R-S GO BLAZERS GO!) He is also a supportive Georgia Tech fan - go Jackets! He has traveled to Mexico, Canada, Honduras, and Cuba on church mission trips. He enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, movies, and socializing with his friends. He has interviewed dozens of athletes and politicians, and even got to play a round of golf at Augusta National Golf Club in 2010!
